Arial View Of The Island

This is a marvelous overview of the Island , Thank you Scott of ‘Blue Peter’

A visitor in September 2018, Scott of ‘Blue Peter’, took these great aerial videos of Middle Percy Island. It is Interesting to see how well wooded the Island has become since the sheep were taken off in 1964, and the ring-barking of the trees for grazing ceased. The black and white photos from the Whites days show a stark contrast, where the grazing land is clearly visible for 1500 to 2000 sheep from 1921 – 1960s.

The entrance to the lagoon. The lagoon is tidal, several anchorages are available for boats that can sit on the sand at low tide but please keep the entrance clear at all times.

The PIYC club house, otherwise known as ‘The A-Frame’ at West Beach, is where visitors gather, share a meal, cooked on the open fire, and leave a memento.
